Scallywag Scarecrow Farm Safety is Fun Show

Scallywag Scarecrow Farm Safety is Fun Show is a 50-minute interactive, educational and fun way of promoting farm safety awareness in young children between 3-8 years of age.

Scallywag Scarecrow and Farmer Fran the puppet, sing songs and work through safe and unsafe scenarios on the farm which include safety around: water, fire, machinery, animals, poisons, silos and long grass.

Space Required: The space normally used for group time should suffice. A self standing backdrop is used approx 3m long and 2m high.

Group size: maximum of 50 children

Cost: The cost varies depending on the locality of the centre and whether milage and accomodation costs need to be added. Presently we are seeking funding and sponsorship to be able to cover these costs. The cost of the performance on it's own is $200. If centres are interested you could contact your local farm related services to see if they could cover petrol and accomodation costs.

The Farm Safety Is Fun Primary Show

A primary show has now been developed for grades 2 - 6 starring Super Scarecrow and Farmer Vicki. This is a 50 minute interactive,fun, show concentrating on protective clothing, dangers around ATV's (All Terrain Vehicles), Tractors, Lawnmowers, Large animals, Chemicals, and Silos. During the show children are taught about the importance of developing safety awareness, attitudes and behaviours. This show uses a multiple intelligence approach using hands on displays, rap rhymes and rap dancing to help deliver the message.

 

Space Required: A space of 3m x 3m is needed as a stage area. Then enough space for students to sit on the floor. A carpeted area is more appropriate.

Group size: maximum of 80 children.
